War, the climate crisis, political inaction – it’s easy to feel helpless in the face of such challenges. What have you done to empower yourself?
The world in 2024 feels like a febrile place. Positive News remains as committed as ever to presenting an alternative perspective on current affairs. But it’s hard, even for us, not to look around – at the atrocities in Gaza, the crumbling public services, the burgeoning billionaires and democratic backsliding – and feel a bit powerless sometimes.
Whether you’re religious or not, the serenity prayer by theologian Reinhold Niebuhr remains relevant. “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
His words beg a question: what have you done to empower yourself in these strange times? (Aside from reading Positive News, of course). That was the question we put to our readers. The form has now closed but answers will be published in a forthcoming article.
