Black Friday. Christmas. ‘Tis the season for rampant consumerism. How do you choose to do things differently?
It starts ramping up around Halloween. Then the plastic pumpkins are replaced with Christmas tat and Black Friday deals, which eagle-eyed researchers have proven to be mostly phony. In any case, consumerism feels impossible to ignore at this time of the year as the corporate machine fires up for its big money spinner.
At best, it’s overwhelming. At worst, plain ugly. And it begs a question: how do you choose to take a different tack? (Especially if you have excitable kids clutching lists.)
It’s a question we asked Positive News readers – and here’s what you had to say.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
