One outdoor clothing company is touring the world to repair people’s damaged snow sport apparel for free
Launching in Innsbruck, Austria, in January and making its way to snowy destinations across Europe is the Worn Wear Repair Tour, organised by outdoor clothing company Patagonia. Experts are on hand to repair – for free – zips, buttons, rips and tears as well as Gore-Tex items, with the idea being to encourage people to take care of their gear, repairing it when necessary, to ensure it lasts as long as possible.
“Bring your most loved (and abused) piece of clothing and Patagonia will repair it for free, whatever the brand,” say organisers. “By keeping a piece of clothing for nine extra months, we can reduce carbon, waste and water usage by 20 to 30 per cent. Repair is a radical act!”
