Get your neighbours out for lunch

The annual Big Lunch is set for Sunday 3 June this year, the same weekend as The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations

An initiative set up by the Eden Project, its aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.

Last year on Sunday 5th June nearly two million people took part.

Buckingham Palace will hold The Big Jubilee Lunch at the same time as part of the main programme of Jubilee events.

A Big Lunch can be anything from a few neighbours getting together in the garden or on the street, to an elaborate street party with food, music and decoration.
