New training scheme sets out to redress the gender imbalance in the management of mosques in Britain
The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) has launched a training scheme to get more women on to the management boards of mosques. Twenty women took part in the pilot, which concluded in December and is now being reviewed.
Few UK mosques have women on their boards, a situation described by the MCB as “unacceptable”.
