Animation summit puts women in the picture

The world’s first all-female animation summit targets industry gender bias

The first Women in Animation World Summit has been held to highlight the gender gap in the animated film industry.

The event explored topics including unconscious bias and was held as part of the Annecy Animation Festival on 12 June in France.

A 2015 Animation Guild report revealed that just 20 per cent of industry positions are filled by women.
