Musical duo promote positive message

“What you focus on grows” say Oxford musicians Barefoot and Leakster

At Positive News, we believe that social and individual progress can be inspired and created by focusing on the positive.

Sharing this view are Russell Leak and Barefoot Doctor, who together make up Barefoot and Leakster, an Oxford based project with a positive musical message.

Russell Leak is a musician, composer and singer/songwriter known for his work with the Oxford based band the Response Collective. Barefoot Doctor a.k.a Stephen Russell has worked in psychotherapy, as well as martial arts, healing, meditation and Chinese medicine. The duo’s collaboration was inspired through a mutual desire to make positive music, self evident in the title of their newly released EP, What You Focus on Grows.

During a recent interview on BBC Radio Oxford, the pair revealed how they are on a mission to make people happy.

“If you focus on the positive stuff you get more of the positive,” said Russell.

Stephen added: “When you focus on the things you worry about, you’re praying for them to happen.”
