Celebrate the sunshine with these food and drink-infused outdoor adventures
100-mile pub crawl
Spanning the breadth of the South Downs National Park, from Eastbourne to Winchester, this 100-mile path has been walked as a pilgrimage for more than 500 years. Pubs and old coaching inns are spaced evenly along the trail, meaning the trek could also form one of the most scenic pub crawls on the planet – whether you fancy a tipple or not.
Kayak the Whisky Coast
Scotland’s whisky coast is home to 14 of what many consider to be the finest whisky distilleries in the world. The Scottish Sea Kayak Trail is billed as Europe’s first long-distance sea kayak route, beginning at the coast’s southern tip. If you’re a whisky fan, sip single malt on deserted beaches at night and share sunrises with seals, porpoises and maybe even whales.
Cream tea cycle
Enjoy guilt-free gluttony on a cycle tour of some of Cornwall’s best cream teas. The 18-mile Camel Trail follows a railway line from Padstow to Wenford Bridge, passing some of the region’s tearooms en route. Try Miss V’s Vintage High Tea in Bodmin, or The Camel Trail Tea Garden, right on the cycle path.
