Climate campaigners get moving

Moving Planet, a global event to mobilise people in taking action against climate change, will take place on 24 September.

Organised by grassroots campaign group 350.org, thousands are expected to take to the streets on foot, bicycle and other sustainable transport in order to send a message to political leaders that the world wants to “get moving” in order to prevent a climate crisis.

Parades in locations from Wellington, New Zealand, to Sao Paolo, Brazil, will call for nations to move beyond fossil fuels and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
