Sustainable bank takes over New York stock exchange billboard

Messages about sustainability replaced share prices during the campaign

Triodos Bank took over the NASDAQ stock exchange board in New York’s Times Square for a day in August 2011, replacing the usual up and down share price figures with positive messages on culture, fair trade and sustainable farming set against negative messages on inequality, exploitation and climate change.

The project was part of a campaign by Triodos Bank in the Netherlands, which urges people to realise the impact of their financial decisions and invest in a sustainable future.
