TV station adds green energy updates to daily weather reports

A Belgian TV station has added green energy updates to its regular weather reports in a bid to raise awareness about renewable power

A Flemish TV station, VRT, has added sun and wind energy to its daily weather updates. Hosts Frank Deboosere and Sabine Hagedoren now include information such as how weather conditions will impact the country’s wind and solar projects. They will also compare green power production levels over time.

“Sun and wind are increasingly important as sources of energy,” Deboosere told a Belgian radio station. “We feel it is important to provide this additional service, as we do for other side effects of our weather, as the UV index and ozone concentration. We want the viewers to be informed and raise awareness about green energy.”
