Happiness is our basic state of being according to psychologist, Robert Holden, founder of The Happiness Project.
Traditional psychology focuses on what is wrong with people. The Happiness Project encourages people to find their inner happiness. Quoting Carl Jung, he said, ‘Most people suffer not from physical illness but from spiritual aimlessness. They have lost sight of who they really are and what is really valuable’. That’s not really surprising in this day and age, says Robert, when every year, in western culture, the average adult is exposed to over a hundred thousand advertisements telling us what we should truly value.
‘Our job, as friends of the world, is to distinguish between desire and truth.’ Over 30,000 doctors, psychologists, therapists and coaches have attended presentations on positive psychology and well-being.
