Positive News successfully crowd-funds young journalist placement

We’ve reached our funding target to provide a young person with a training placement at Positive News

We reached our target!

Thank you to everyone who supported our crowd-funding project to give a young person a training placement at Positive News. We worked with community fundraising platform WeSayWePay to raise £600 to cover the expenses for a young person on a 3-month placement. Your support has meant that we can now give that young person some valuable experience in solution-focused journalism and send them out into the world as another journalist who can help create a more balanced media!

We’ll be opening applications for the placement shortly, so if you’re a student or recent graduate looking to build a career in the media, while making a positive difference, get in touch to register your interest.

Our sister organisation, Positive News Trust has been working for many years to promote the positive things that young people are doing, while working alongside us to offer opportunities for young people to gain experience in the media. At this time when the need for positive news is clear and when young people are facing record unemployment levels, we want to step up our efforts. This project marks the start of our plans to work with Positive News Trust to help many more young people and create a generation of positive journalists.

Thank you once again to everyone who donated to make this happen and watch this space for news about how the project progresses.
