The International Conference on Integrating Health, Education, Research and Conservation has been organised by the Dilo Dolphin Dome Project , Dolphin Watch and the Open University Mind, Body and Spirit Club. It will explore the integration of projects and research in science, nature and the arts and launch the Dilo Dolphin Dome. Horace Dobbs has developed this project using virtual reality to enable people to have interactive dolphin experiences in the dome without needing to meet them in the flesh.

“Countless people’s lives have been changed by encounters with dolphins. Some have been lifted from clinical depression. Others have been helped along the road to recovery from ME, cancer or AIDS,” he said. “For a medical scientist like me who loves and respects dolphins and hates to see them in captivity, I can think of no better way of exploring the unique relationship that exists between ourselves and these delightful mammals that have been described as our cousins in the sea’.”
